In February 2014 I was asked to back a start up company that would make Ford Focus TCR race cars for racing teams to compete in the global TCR series set up by Bernie Ecclestone. The first car was delivered on time and took part in its first race at Monza this weekend and finished a very respectable 10th. For a first time this is a fantastic result and the feedback we have gained means we can now gain some huge improvements in performance going forward. The company I backed, managed by F1 veteran and old mate Mike Earle, plans to deliver over 40 cars into the series over the next 2 years.
